This week I want to go into a bit more detail about judging run outs and also calling no balls for short pitched balls above shoulder height and full tosses above waist height.

I hope that you are enjoying your umpiring and are looking forward to umpiring on the weekend. Some of our new umpires may be umpiring games by themselves for the first time this weekend. My advice is to prepare yourself for your game, get to the ground at least 30 minutes before the start of play and take it 1 ball at a time.

I hope that everyone enjoyed umpiring in the first round of the season! For new umpires, umpiring your first game will give you some experience and allow you to better prepare yourself for your next match. For experienced umpires, I hope that the first round was a chance to get back into the role of being an umpire and that you are back in the swing of things and ready for the season ahead!
