Welcome to the New MJCC Season

On behalf of the Metropolitan Junior Community Cricket (MJCC), I would like to warmly welcome everyone to the commencement of another exciting cricket season.

As the governing body for community junior cricket across Metropolitan Perth and Peel, the MJCC exists to provide opportunities for all children to enjoy cricket in an environment focused on fun, friendship and participation. We are committed to fostering a community-centred game that celebrates inclusiveness and participation, guided by our core values of Guaranteed Participation, Progression, Enjoyment and Safety.

As we prepare for the season ahead, we encourage every club, team, player and supporter to embrace these values and to play the game in the true spirit of community cricket. While competition is an important part of sport, our greatest success comes from ensuring every child feels welcome, valued and included, regardless of their experience, ability or background. The memories our young cricketers take from the game will be shaped not only by results, but by the friendships they make, the encouragement they receive and the enjoyment they experience along the way.

Junior cricket provides an opportunity to teach much more than batting, bowling and fielding. It teaches teamwork, resilience, respect, sportsmanship and a lifelong love of being active. We ask all clubs to continue creating positive environments where players can develop their skills, challenge themselves, and most importantly, have fun.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the many volunteers who make junior cricket possible. From committee members, coordinators and administrators, to coaches, team managers, scorers, canteen workers, grounds staff and parents helping behind the scenes, your time, dedication and sacrifice are the foundation of our competition. The countless hours you give throughout the year enable thousands of children to participate in cricket and strengthen the communities we represent. Your contribution is invaluable and deeply appreciated.

As the season begins, we encourage everyone to support one another, respect officials and opponents, champion inclusion, and remember that junior cricket is at its best when every participant finishes the day with a smile and a sense of belonging.

We wish all clubs, players, families and volunteers a safe, enjoyable and successful season ahead.
