Board Nominations

The following form is to be filled out by those wishing to nominate for an elected position on the board of Metropolitan Junior Community Cricket Inc. (MJCC). Please read all below information, links and attachments prior to completing your nomination form. By completing this form, you acknowledge that you have read all relevant material and met all necessary standards and qualifications for nomination.

Metropolitan Junior Community Cricket Inc. (MJCC)

MJCC is the governing body for junior community cricket in Perth and Peel, and the metropolitan junior cricket affiliate of WA Cricket. MJCC's Vision is for a future where everyone, everywhere can experience the joy of cricket — where opportunity is open to all, and every game leaves people wanting to come back.

MJCC is guided by its Constitution and Strategic Plan. Nominees should familiarise themselves with the purpose, values and objectives of both documents, which are available on the MJCC website.

The MJCC Board consists of 6 x Elected Directors and 3 x Appointed Directors. All positions are voluntary. Individuals considering applying for a Board role need to ensure they are committed to the strategic direction of MJCC and that they are prepared to actively contribute through sub-committees to the workload of the Board. A clear understanding of the roles and expectations of a board director is also essential – see the MJCC Board Member role description for reference.

Board Nominations

MJCC is calling for nominations to fill 3 x Elected positions, each for a 2 year term, and are seeking nominations for election from members of the community who wish to contribute to furthering the MJCC vision through a board position, representing the 70 member clubs of the MJCC.

The MJCC in its constitutional objectives include a desire to support strategies to increase the diversity of Boards, and actively encourage members to participate in the attainment of its objectives. People from a diverse range of experience and backgrounds are encouraged to nominate. This includes people from the Multicultural community, identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, people with a disability, members of the LGBTQI+ community and any other community member who feels they can make a positive difference in junior community cricket.

The Constitutional requirements for Board elections are contained in section 17 of the MJCC Constitution. Nominees should familiarise themselves with the relevant rules and timelines for this process.

Nominations will be open from Thursday 28th May until Midday on Thursday 11th June 2026. All nominations must be submitted via this form.

Members will be asked to vote by ticking a box next to the 3 candidates they would like to see elected to the MJCC Board. The 3 candidates with the most ticks will be elected for a 2 year term. In the unlikely event of a tie for 3rd place, the existing MJCC Board members will consider which candidate most closely aligns with the Board’s values and desired skill set and that candidate will be considered successful.

All nominations must include the following:

  • Attachments of the required course qualifications from the Australian Sports Commission short courses as detailed

  • A letter of support from a President or Authorised Representative of a Member Club must also be attached. Note this does not need to be a character reference, simply confirmation that the member club is supportive of the candidate’s nomination.

Answers to demographic questions are for administrative purposes only and will not be provided to members.

The MJCC Nominations Committee reserves the right not to progress a nominee to elections in line with the above requirements. An application may also be withheld in cases of concern related to current or past legal matters, serious past tribunal offences in sport or inability to hold a director position on a board.

Please contact mjcc.admin@wacricket.com.au for any questions or assistance in filling out this form.
