24-25 Rules Changes
Many small changes were made this season to align to the MJCC transition. Most of these were minor changes to wording or structure of the documents. We have collated a list of the most significant changes below, that actually affect how you play the game.

Year 10-11-12 Girls
Previous:
(a) The maximum number of wickets for a team to be all out shall be 10 wickets when a team has 11 or more players.
(b) If a team has fewer than 11 players, then the maximum wickets is the number of players available less 1 (e.g. 8 players = 7 wickets).
New:
1.3.1 Boys Competitions
(a) The maximum number of wickets for a team to be all out shall be 10 wickets when a team has 11 or more players.

In Yr7 Boys and Yr8/9 Girls, a batter can ONLY be given out LBW if ALL the following conditions are met:
(i) The delivery is a legal delivery; and,
(ii) The delivery has pitched in line with the stumps or outside the line of off stump and has not contacted the bat before hitting the batter's pad or body; and,
(iii) The first point of contact with the batter's pads or body is in line from wicket to wicket; and,
(iv) If the ball had not struck the batter's pads or body, it would have gone on to hit the stumps.
New:
In Yr7 Boys and Yr8/9 Girls, a batter is Not Out LBW if the ball hits the batter on either pad or body and they are clearly playing forward in a genuine stroke.

All players, except the wicketkeepers, must bowl 2 overs before any player can bowl more than 3 overs.
New:

No fielders within 15 metres of the striker, except for the Wicket Keeper, to encourage singles and safety.

A ball comes to rest in front of the line of the striker's wicket or is so far from the pitch that the striker would need to leave the pitch to attempt to play the ball, without having previously touched the bat or the striker, the umpire shall call and signal No Ball and immediately call and signal Dead Ball and the striker is not permitted an opportunity to hit the ball.
New:
A ball comes to rest in front of the line of the striker's wicket without having previously touched the bat or the striker, or is so far from the pitch that the striker leaves the pitch to attempt to play the ball. If a batter is not present to bat their innings, they will be recorded as Absent.

(c) Associations may stipulate "no-go" zones are required behind the bowler’s end.
i. They must be clearly marked with cones or similar; and,
ii. Spectators are not permitted to enter the zones, except to move through the zones without disrupting the match.

Where a club has multiple teams in the same competition, a player cannot play more than 25% of matches in that competition for more than one team. Under extraordinary circumstances an association may, at their discretion, approve a player to play more than 25% for more than one team.
New:
A player must not play more than 25% of fixtured matches for any additional teams in the same Competition Age Group.

Previous:
Scorers must interrupt play to advise the umpires as soon as they are aware (don’t wait until the end of the over) that a player has or is about to breach bowling and batting rules.
New:
Should the scorers notice a breach to bowling or batting rules they must immediately interupt play (don't wait until the end of the over) and:
(i) Advise the umpires that a player is about to breach bowling and/or batting rules,
(ii) If a breach occurs in the bowling, the over is to be completed by another bowler who will not breach any of the bowling rules,
(iii) If a breach occurs in the batting, the batter must retire immediately.
